Not great

So I haven't had the best start to my service with dish. I've had it a few months now. We switched from DirecTV after 24 years with directv. Before I even signed up with Dish I told them that one of the most important things to me was that I had the ability with DirecTV to record four things at the same time and still watch something else on TV because I had two DVRs in my home. I wanted to make sure that was possible with Dish before I even signed up. They assured me that not only could I record the four things that I was used to recording but that I could record like 10 things at the same time. I don't remember if they said 10 but it was at least double the amount of four things. That was completely untrue. I am unable to record more than two things throughout my whole house. If there are two things recording in two different rooms I can't watch TV on my third television. I specifically told them how important this was to me and was going to be the main factor whether I switch to them or not. I feel like I was lied to about that because I was lied to about that issue that was important to me. Then they told me that they were signing me up even before my installation for some free insurances. After asking a couple questions it turns out that it's only free for 3 months. So I tried to tell them to cancel that up front because I don't want that even if it's free. I don't want to have to call in 3 months to cancel it. They told me that was not an option and that every new installation has to take this free 3 months. Well now I can't reach Dish Network to cancel and we're at the 3-month Mark. I had to call them last month when all my remotes randomly stopped working and it took me literally 3 hours on hold before the person picked up and then they had to transfer me to someone else and I was back on hold. I don't have an entire day to devote to trying to reach Dish Network to cancel these insurances. Usually I guess that wouldn't be a problem because I do have an online account with them. Perhaps I can cancel it that way or send them a message? Nope. That's not even an option because their system went down during my first month of service with them and never came back. I haven't been able to log into my account since I got the service. I just feel like if they're going to require you to take a free 3 months trial for something they should give you away to cancel it before it starts billing on the fourth month. I thought I was going to be saving money on my bill by switching to Dish also but it turns out dish is costing me more money per month for the same programming I don't even remember what that insurance was about but there's no way to find out. I'm just forced to pay something with no other information and no way to cancel. This is not what I hoped for when I switched and I'm really getting upset about it and wishing that I stayed with DirecTV. At least I can reach DirecTV on the phone if I need to reach them which I typically did not have to do because everything worked. DirecTV did not add random things to my bill that I didn't want. There's the difference. Okay so if you take customer service problems out of the equation and the fact that I can't record more than two things at a time with three receivers which I was lied to about, the actual service and the channels that I get are great. I like the channel lineup very much. That's really all I can think of to say that's positive. One last complaint is the remote itself. I've had nothing but problems with my remotes. When I find tutorials online to try to fix them it's a completely different remote than the ones that I was given. My remote don't even have a record button. It's the weirdest thing ever and my dish remotes are completely different than any other Dish Network remote I can find online. So I also got the *** remotes. It's a real hassle to record anything without a record button. The tutorials that I find say that there are two types of Dish Network remotes and it shows pictures of both of them and neither one of those are what I was given at the install appointment.o

You need the Hopper 3. What you currently have is a Hopper Duo.

The Hopper 3 has 16 tuners and can watch/record up to a total of 19 different programs(utilizing PTAT). What you’re asking for is possible, just not with your current equipment.

I can't wait to cancel this subscription. This TV it is the worst system I have ever had I've had cox and I've had DirecTV never had the problems that this company continues to have for 3 months they've been owed money for equipment I returned that I was supposed to get a refund for that has not happened over $365 at night when I'm watching the TV the description field of the movie you want to watch disappears so you can't read what the movie is about.

My prime video never worked on this TV so I ended up canceling my subscription that I had for years prime video through Cox TV. Viewing again at night for some reason when you go to the menu section to select a movie in the guide highlight it and then press select for it to come on the station it won't engage you have to actually come out of it and manually type in the channel number. This happens at night for some reason like around 9:00pm or 10:00 p.m. I called tonight to get to a technician to fix the issue but the automated recording said that their call volume is high and hung up on me.

Well no wonder the call volume is high everyone's calling in to complain or get issue fixed.

So many constant issues with the system I'm sick of it I'm fed up I can't wait to get out of this contract and go back to Cox. Or even DirecTV TV.

I have had every single Hopper and Joey since their inception, including the Hopper+. I have not had a single one of these issues, so it sounds like it may be relegated to just you, and how you are trying to use the system. Either that, or something environmental.

Want to cancel.

We received dish on Jan 29, 2023. Shortly after that I attempted to reach dish to find out what my next bill would be as I changed the due date to conincide with my pay. I was unable to reach anyone by phone, or on line. The only way I found out the amount of my bill was by confirming the deduction when it was removed from my checking account. No email or bill was sent to me. I eventually got thru customer service after waiting for over a half hour to speak to someone. I thought Dish was gone! We started having issues with Dish from day one! When our tech was going thru the channels, Channel 33 was missing. I would have never purchased your service if I was aware of this. The tech pulls out an antenna and puts it in my bay window. The service soon started to go haywire. Closed captioning continually goes on both main tvs. You'll be watching a program and it stops and another screen floats around telling you select. Crazy! Now if you get near Channel 33, the tv goes out and hopper pops on and you have to wait for the tv to go thru its motions. When I called to speak to someone about these issues I was asked what the code was. There was no code. He informed me he could not help me. My husbad's tv froze, no volume. We had to unplug it and restart. I called Dish to cancel. They were willing to cancel, as long as I paid the $20 a month to the end of my contract. I spoke to two individuals to argue the fact Dish was never in compliance of the contract from day one. The supervisor advised he would give us a credit and send a rep out. He also told me he would be adding a 10.99 charge. I advised I received this service free for six months. He advised I canceled it. This is truly absurd. What happened to people doing the right and moral thing. I hope someone takes dish down as they are not worthy of our money. I read the complaints on Facebook and was blown away how many people have had to deal with dish's crap! User's recommendation: Read Facebook comments

These people are all correct, DISH SUCKS !!!! They lie and steal money from your bank acct.

And nothing works from day one. MY Banks Lawyers are taking them to court for debit card fraud and stealing money from my acct. and my dish never worked from day one. They owe me $173.28 and I just got an email today saying they are going to charge me $86.84 again.

My Bank has a stop and do not pay anything that comes in from Dish, thank god. Just sue them.

@PissedConsumer2335688

Your bank will not get anywhere, as they will be “suing” them on your behalf and you already waived your right to sue.

Why do you think they are required to give you an extension?
